Don't have a heap of time or perhaps just have a short attention span...
THESE WALKS WILL GIVE YOU A TASTE OF THE GOOD STUFF WITHOUT TAKING UP TOO MUCH TIME. WHILE THEY MAY BE SHORT, THEY PUNCH A GOOD AMOUNT OF SATISFACTION THAT COMES WITH SPENDING SOME TIME IN THE BUSH.
blue springs, Te waihou walkway
Make sure you have plenty of storage on your phone or a clear SD card in your camera - you are gonna need it for this beauty of a walk! And bonus...no major hills to climb to be awarded with this amazing spot.
FAIRY FALLS
Fairy Falls is a favourite amongst locals and tourists alike. It delights with multiple fall viewings as well as some fun stream crossings - if you do get lucky and have get some time at the base of the falls on your own, you experience the true magic of Fairy Falls.
MERCER BAY LOOP
Quick, easy but full of A-M-A-Z-I-N-G views! Even better when you head out around sunset. You might see a few couples enjoying a romantic picnic as there are a few little hideaway spots but all in all, it's a great all-round beauty of a track.
ANAWHATA BEACH
This track is fairly basic in terms of complexity - its a simple path down to the beach and back up again but along the way you are treated to more gorgeous west coast beach beauty. There used to be access to some really cool rock pools above a waterfall (that you can see from the viewing point on the path) but note, this is private land and should not be accessed. A real shame as it is just amazing.
kitekite falls
These falls are pretty well-known in Auckland and appear on many 'bush-walks to do' lists, for good reason. They are pretty amazing and if you like to go off the beaten track (um isn't that what bush walking is about?) then you'll like the scramble to the upper tiers of the falls. You can also canyon down these falls which is pretty awesome too. Be aware, on a sunny day, it can feel like everyone in Auckland is there!
CATHEDRAL COVE
Cathedral Cove is a very well-known spot in NZ and popular for tourists and kiwis alike. Head along on a beautiful summers day and you're walk will be longer than normal due to limited parking; however head out on a beautiful winters day and you might just enjoy it that little bit more, so long as a swim in the ocean isn't completely necessary... that's just downright crazy in winter (although not unheard of).
