Fairy Falls is located off Scenic Drive, around half an hour from central Auckland.

Fairy Falls is one of those walks that I always think, yeah, easy Sunday walk but I always forget that it's got a decent climb and usually some good muddy bits (that if you're not on your top game, you might just make you fall over...so make sure you're on top of your game!). It's another popular walk and you'll find you'll pass a few people as you go along. It starts off steadily descending towards the falls which, when you arrive, treats you to many levels of the falls and loads of photo opportunities. You can even jump onto the rocks and enjoy a little picnic. When you get to the base of the falls, lookout for the track on the opposite side as it continues across the rocks (we missed it the first time!...total rookies). The second part of the track is just beautiful as you head back up towards the road. As you start to get some height you get some sweet views of Auckland city and on a sunny day, she's pretty special.

All in all, a super enjoyable walk that gives you your waterfall and a damn good butt workout!
