Love being out in nature but don't need it to take all day

2-4 HOURS IS A DECENT EFFORT.  THERE ARE LOADS OF WALKS THAT FALL INTO THIS CATEGORY SO YOU CAN GET YOUR FIX OF NATURE WALKING, FOLLOWED BY A SWIM AT THE BEACH OR A LUNCH AND A BEVY AT SOME OF THE GREAT ESTABLISHMENTS THAT ARE WITHIN A QUICK DRIVE OF MOST OF THESE WALKS.

stillwater beach walk

This is one of those walks where you really should check the tides...unless you are ok with getting a bit wet.  It's has the added bonus of a bit of history with an old building that has a wee story to it.  All in all, it's a good, easy walk, best enjoyed on a beautiful sunny day.

GOLDIE'S BUSH

A cracker for a hot summer day, cos on this track, you're gonna get your feet wet.  Littered with so many stream crossings than you can poke a stick at (keep the stick it might come in handy) this track is for the slightly more adventurous...and if you're really keen (read brave), there's a bit of a stream jump to test your nerve.

OMANAWANUI-KURA Loop track

This is another track full of photo-worthy moments.  It will be sure to take you much longer than it should just due to the amount of times you need to stop to take a photo and catch your breath from the views...oh and the hills.

WENDERHOLM

Wenderholm is a great spot for so many reasons - you've got expansive park areas for BBQs and cricket with the family; the beach is calm and safe for swimming; there's a really pretty historic home smack bang in the middle of the grounds and there is a series of walks to take you over and around the headlands.  Plus, it's 5 minutes from Waiwera Hot Pools, great for soaking aching muscles!

wairere falls

Wairere Falls are not only the highest falls in the North Island, rising to an almighty 153m, but they are also stunning, AND you can get right on top of them whilst soaking in the spectacular Waikato plains.

Karamatura Falls & Mt Donald McLean Lookout

Karamatura Falls aren't super popular with the general public due to it not being the most accessible compared to other falls in the area, so this makes it even more enjoyable!.  Combine the walk with the Mt Donald McLean lookout and you have yourself a seriously photo-worthy walk on your hands.
